Common questions

The Apple Watch says it can't connect, or shows no match
  1. Make sure the iPhone and Apple Watch are close together, and Bluetooth is on for both.
  2. Open Love Scorer on the iPhone and start a match first. The watch shows the match once the iPhone has one.
  3. On the watch, tap Refresh. The small watch icon at the top of the iPhone scoreboard turns yellow when the watch is connected.
  4. If the watch app isn't there, open the Watch app on your iPhone and install Love Scorer from the list of available apps.
  5. Still stuck? Close Love Scorer on both devices and open it on the iPhone first, then the watch.
I can't hear the score
  • Check the speaker button at the top of the scoreboard. It should show the speaker with sound waves, not a slash.
  • In Settings → Voice & Sound, make sure Speak the score is on.
  • Turn up the iPhone volume. The announcer follows the media volume.
  • For a Bluetooth speaker, connect it in the iPhone's Settings → Bluetooth first. Announcements then play through it, even with the screen locked.
How do I make the voice sound more natural?

Download a Premium or Enhanced voice on your iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → English. Love Scorer's Best available option picks it up automatically, or you can choose it in Settings → Voice & Sound.

How do I save a match?

When a match ends, tap Save match. To save every match automatically, turn on Save finished matches automatically in Settings → Options. Saved matches appear in the History tab, with stats for each match and for the last 30 days, 6 months and 12 months.

How does iCloud backup work?

In Settings → Options, turn on Back up to iCloud. Your saved matches are copied to your own iCloud account and appear on other iPhones signed in to the same Apple ID. You need to be signed in to iCloud on the iPhone, and syncing can take a little while. Deleting a match deletes it from the backup too.

How do I send a match to my opponent?

Open the match in History and tap Send match to opponent. Send the file by Messages, AirDrop or email. When your opponent taps it, Love Scorer opens and asks whether to save it to their history. Your opponent needs Love Scorer installed.

To share a picture instead, tap Share a Match Snapshot.

Why don't my opponent's stats line up with mine?

Stats are added up by player name, so the same name needs to be spelled the same way each time. Capital letters and spaces at the ends don't matter.

Why do some matches say break points weren't tracked?

Break point tracking started in a later version. Matches saved before that have no break point information, so those rows show “not tracked”.

How do I delete my data?

Swipe left on a match in History to delete it, or tap Clear all. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. If you used iCloud backup, deleting a match in the app also removes it from your iCloud backup.
